Chapter 2 — AI Agents

What is the difference between AI (LLM) and AI agent?

Now that you already understand the difference in how the LLM and the AI Agent deliver the result, you must be wondering: why is this happening?

The answer is simple: because the AI Agent is using the LLM’s brain in a different way.

When you go to a ChatGPT site and chat with the LLM, you’re using a ping-pong communication channel with the brain.

When you’re using an AI Agent, you’re using a structure prepared to orchestrate and manage that thinking.

In a way that this thinking will stay over there, in the brain (or in multiple brains), until it comes back with the result.

That is the key difference between LLM and AI Agent.

The AI Agent uses an AI brain (which is an LLM), but it has a work structure programmed to work differently.

And today, there are several structures beyond the AutoGPT structure.

AutoGPT is what we call a way of organizing brains and teams of agents.

And now we have even more complex structures, which we will be working on in part 3 of this book.

More complex, but at the same time, much simpler to use, cooler, and prettier than that first test I did with AutoGPT.

And the trend is that this will get increasingly simpler and will enter all companies.
